At the beginning of 2023, I spent three months on Tenerife as part of an artist residency. During my time there, I went on countless walks, exploring the island’s unique landscapes and soaking in its atmosphere. Four illustrations came out of those experiences, each capturing the moments that made my stay so special.

Living on an island, isolated from the mainland, made time feel different—like it was moving at its own pace. The colors of Tenerife, the vibrant hues of the houses, the quality of light, and the dramatic cloud formations drifting over the endless ocean left a deep impression on me. These illustrations are a reflection of that slower, almost timeless way of living, capturing the island’s unique spirit. For me, they are memories of a place where every day felt like a new discovery, where the landscape and light created a world all its own.
