I took part in a competition for Wen Cheng, a Berlin-based noodle house, and was selected to illustrate one month of their 2026 calendar. The task was to visually stage a specific dish, and I was assigned their popular cucumber salad.

To me, it is the perfect dish to share. Everyone reaches into the bowl with their chopsticks, feels the heat, and simply enjoys the flavor together. It’s a simple dish, but one that reliably delivers its impact. That shared moment is what I wanted to capture in this illustration.

I also integrated a few ghostly figures to represent the dish’s intense heat and bold, almost demonic flavors.
